I’m Branli Caidryn, a speculative fiction and science fiction author based in the Pacific Northwest.

I’m drawn to stories that begin with extraordinary possibilities but remain grounded in human questions. What happens when someone is given power they never asked for? How does a person define themselves when others see them as an experiment, a weapon, or a means to an end? And how far will people go to control something they do not fully understand?

Those questions are at the heart of the Project Horizon series.

The series begins with Phoenix Splinter and continues in Icarus Fall, following characters caught between dangerous abilities, hidden agendas, and revelations that challenge what they understand about themselves and the world around them. A third installment has been completed and is currently awaiting editing.

My interest in science fiction extends beyond technology, distant worlds, or the unknown. I’m most interested in how speculative ideas place pressure on people: how they respond, what they fear, what they protect, and who they become when the rules of their lives suddenly change.

When I’m not writing, I enjoy hiking, exploring the Pacific Northwest, and spending time with my dog. The landscapes of this region—its forests, mountains, changing weather, and quieter places—offer plenty of room to think, imagine, and occasionally untangle a difficult story.
